QuickBooks 2016 company file extension
In some situations, you might need to change your QuickBooks Desktop company file name. For example:
- Your company's name was changed and you want your company file to be a representative of the new name.
- You created a QuickBooks Desktop company file but misspelled or used the wrong name.
- You created a new copy of a company file while troubleshooting an issue, and you want the new file to use the same name as the previous file.
Note: If you use Loan Manager to track loans that you set up in QuickBooks Desktop, you need to recreate your Loan Manager info after you rename the company file. This is because the Loan Manager file (.lmr) uses the same file name as the company file, and if you rename the Loan Manager file you will receive an error when you try to open it in QuickBooks Desktop.
