LAZ Parking one Post Office Square

One Beacon parking shares an entrance with the garage belonging to its neighbor - I didn't take the time to comparison shop, so I have no idea which is the better deal. But One Beacon has only a few levels of below street parking. Most spots are the longer sort where you'd have to give up your keys, and just a few were single car spots. We were just about to give up my precious keys when a lady happened to pull out, so I grabbed her single car spot - oh relief! Good thing too, since later we had to come back to the car to grab another layer for me, since I had misjudged the chill of the day. $12 for Sunday parking, really close to the Park Street Church side of the Boston Common.
This is total highway robbery - $40 for 1 1/2 hours?!! I had to get to a lunch appointment, got caught up waiting at a gazillion stoplights so decided not to waste time trying to find cheaper parking. For 1 1/2 hours I expected $30 at the very most!! Saw the sign for $35, and although upset I was already there. When I came back the very rude attendant said $40 - I thought it was up to 90 minutes for $35, but NO, it was 80 minutes - who cuts off at 80 minutes?? It makes no sense, and it's totally outrageous for that short amount of time! This is parking for courthouse - totally taking advantage of the trapped audience :-( . There should be some city regulation of parking fees in Boston, especially when 90% of the meter parking is taken up with construction and commercial parking.
