QuickBooks POS label printer

For the PIN pad to work, both Point of Sale and Windows must have it assigned to the same COM port. Use these steps to be sure they match. To see which port Windows assigned:
  1. Open Windows Device Manager:
    1. Click the Windows Start or Logo button, right-click Computer, and select Properties.
    2. Select Device Manager.
  2. Double-click Ports (COM & LPT).
  3. Double-click your PIN pad in the list.
  4. Click the Port Settings tab and click Advanced. Point of Sale defaults to COM5. If this port is being used by another device, note the COM number you see and follow the next steps to make sure Point of Sale matches.
To see which port Point of Sale assigned:
  1. In QuickBooks Point of Sale for Desktop, choose File > Preferences > Workstation.
